Below are the job descriptions for the positions that will be voted on during our last home game (October 20th). If you are interested in any of the positions, please submit a letter of interest to the secretary (firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than Wednesday, October 17th at 9pm. Your letter should include a short biography and your reasons for wanting to run for the position. So that voters can learn more about you and make an informed decision, all letters received, will be displayed at the voting table on October 20th.
NOTE: All Executive Board Members are expected to attend no less than 10 of the 12 annual mandatory monthly meetings, all Special Meetings, and as many weekly meetings as possible to best serve the Apopka Raptors families and participants.
1st Vice President. The 1st Vice President shall:
a. Perform such duties as are herein specifically set forth and such duties as are customarily incident to the Office of Vice President or may be assigned by the Executive Board.
b. Serve as an aide to the President/Commissioner. In case of the absence or disability of the President and provided he/she is authorized by the President or the Board to so act, the Vice President shall perform the duties of the President, and when so acting, shall Conduct the affairs of APOPKA RAPTORS and execute the policies established by the Executive Board.
c. Countersign all checks with the Treasurer, if the President is unable.
d. Work in conjunction with the 2nd Vice President and the Director of Football and Director of Cheer to coordinate anything related to football or cheer that the President is unable to.
e. Be responsible for coordinating the Coaches and Volunteer Committee and Home Game Committee
f. Attend all APOPKA RAPTORS Board Meetings.
Treasurer. The Treasurer shall:
a. Perform such duties as are herein specifically set forth and such duties as are customarily incident to the Office of Treasurer or may be assigned by the Executive Board.
b. Receive all monies and securities, and deposit it in the depository approved by the Executive Board.
c. Keep records for the receipt and disbursement of all monies and securities, approve all payments from allotted funds and draw checks therefore in agreement with policies established in advance of such actions by the Executive Board. All disbursements by checks must have dual signatures. The signatures will be those of the Treasurer, President and/or Vice President(s).
d. Be the Budget Committee Chairperson under the direction of the President and Executive Board and prepare budgets for Football and Cheerleading for submission to the Executive Board and the Membership at the Annual Meeting.
e. Prepare an annual financial report, under the direction of the President, for submission to the Executive Board and the Membership at the Annual Meeting.
f. Act as the Purchasing Agent for APOPKA RAPTORS.
g. Coordinate and file financial statements with all local, state and federal revenue departments as required.
h. Coordinate Grants as needed.
i. Coordinate the By Laws with the Executive Board.
j. Coordinate the Team Moms.
k. Work with the Secretary and Team Moms to ensure payments, proper paperwork and team books.
l. Coordinate with the Secretary the Coaches and Team Mom applications for certification. i.e. background checks/fingerprints.
k. Attend all APOPKA RAPTORS Board Meetings.
